Extreme air temperatures during the vegetation season in the Lublin region (1951-1990)

The study presents the results of the analysis of the maximum and minimum mean monthly values of air temperature, as well as its extreme values between April and October m the Lublin region for the years of 1951-1990. The data came from 17 meteorological stations and posts situated in the area analysed and in this vicinity. The maximum mean temperatures of the vegetation season in the Lublin region show relatively little differentiation and range from 18.3°C in Tomaszów Lubelski to 19.1°C in Włodawa. The minimum mean temperatures arc more differentiated than the maximum ones. The warmest areas are the env1rons of the Vistula and San valleys (8.9°C in Puławy and Sandomierz), while the coldest – the south-eastern part of the Lublin region (7.6°C in Tomaszów Lubelski). An absolute temperature maximum occurred in August 1952 in Sandomierz, amounting to 37.1°C. The lowest value of air temperature during the vegetation season (–11.2°C) was recorded in October 1973 in Radzyń Podlaski.

W pracy przedstawiono wyniki analizy wartości średnich miesięcznych maksymalnych i minimalnych temperatury powietrza oraz jej wartości ekstremalnych w okresie kwiecień-październik na Lubelszczyźnie w latach 1951-1990. Dane pochodziły z 17 stacji i posterunków meteorologicznych położonych na analizowanym obszarze i w jego sąsiedztwie. Średnie temperatury maksymalne okresu wegetacyjnego na Lubelszczyźnie są stosunkowo mało zróżnicowane i zmieniają się od 18,3°C w Tomaszowie Lubelskim do 19,l°C we Włodawie. Średnic temperatury minimalne są bardziej zróżnicowane niż temperatury maksymalne. Najcieplejsze tereny to okolice doliny Wisły i Sanu (8,9°C w Puławach i Sandomierzu), najchłodniejsze – południowo-wschodnia część Lubelszczyzny (7,6°C w Tomaszowie Lubelskim). Absolutne maksimum temperatury wystąpiło w sierpniu 1952 r. w Sandomierzu i wyniosło 37,l°C. Najniższą wartość temperatury powietrza w okresie wegetacyjnym (–11,2°C zanotowano w październiku 1973 roku w Radzyniu Podlaskim.
