ABSTRACT
Geologic structure and conditions of relief development in the north-western part of the Volhynia Polesie (Shack Lakeland) are presented in this paper. Geostructural evolution of the marginal part of the East-European platform is described from the Precambrian to the Quaternary. Modern relief of the Shack Lakeland is characterized in detail. Special attention is given to the role of basement in the Quaternary morphogenesis of the examined area.

W artykule przedstawiono zarys budowy geologicznej oraz warunki rozwoju rzeźby północno-zachodniej części Polesia Wołyńskiego (Pojezierze Szackie). Omówiona została ewolucja geostrukturalna brzeżnej części platformy wschodnioeuropejskiej od prekambru po czwartorzęd. Na tym tle dokonano szczegółowej charakterystyki współczesnej rzeźby Pojezierza Szackiego. Zasadniczą uwagę zwrócono zwłaszcza na rolę podłoża w kształtowaniu czwartorzędowej morfogenezy analizowanego obszaru.
