Heavy metals in bottom sediments of three shallow lakes in the Łęczna-Włodawa Lakeland

The concentrations of Cu, Zn, Pb, Cd have been determined in bottom sediments of Syczyńskie, Sumin and Rotcze lakes located in the Łęczna-Włodawa Lakeland, eastern Poland. There was observed differentiation of heavy metals content in the bottom sediments of studied lakes. The heavy metals concentrations decreased in order Zn>Pb>Cu>Cd. The average Cu, Cd, Zn contents were relatively low. Only Pb occured in higher concentration than the accepted toxic levels for macrophytes. The degree of concentration of heavy metals in lakes Sumin and Rotcze correspond in general to the content of organic matter.

Metale ciężkie w osadach dennych trzech płytkich jezior łęczyńsko- włodawskich

W latach 2001-2002 badano zawartość metali ciężkich w osadach dennych jezior Syczyńskie, Sumin, Rotcze. Wyniki badań wskazują, że stężenia metali ciężkich w osadach jezior Sumin i Rotcze były dodatnio skorelowane z zawartością substancji organicznej, przy pŁ0,05. Natomiast w jeziorze Syczyńskim nie stwierdzono korelacji pomiędzy substancją organiczną i metalami ciężkimi. Osady jezior Sumin i Rotcze charakteryzowały się strefowym rozmieszczeniem stężeń analizowanych składników. W jeziorze Syczyńskim nie obserwowano strefowego zróżnicowania zawartości metali ciężkich. We wszystkich badanych jeziorach stężenia metali układały się w następujący szereg: Zn>Pb>Cu>Cd.
