Nitrogen oxides (NOx) concentration in a control point of Lublin in annual cycle

ABSTRACT
The aim of the paper was to determine the emission of NOx (NO, NO2) related to traffic intensity. Concentration of NO2, and NO were measured in the samples of the air, which were collected from the distance of 10 m near the curb of Al. Kraśnicka street leads towards Cracow in the Lublin city. The measurements were conducted for three weeks in each seasons of the year 2000-2001. The mean traffic intensity expressed as the number of vehicles was on the level 1400 per hour. The highest traffic intensity was observed in the summer (1500 per hour) and the lowest in the winter seasons (1220 per hour). The mean concentration of NOx was equal 39.3 μg m-3 where NO was amounted to 61%.

Celem pracy było określenie koncentracji tlenków azotu NO, (NO, NO2) w odniesieniu do intensywności ruchu ulicznego. Stężenie NO, mierzono w powietrzu pobieranym z punktu oddalonego o 10 m od krawędzi Al. Kraśnickiej, będącej drogą wyjazdową z Lublina w kierunku Krakowa. Pomiary prowadzono w latach 2000-2001 w czasie każdej z pór roku przez 3 tygodnie. Średnie, stwierdzone w czasie pomiarów, natężenie ruchu wynosiło 1400 pojazdów na godzinę, najwyższe zaobserwowano latem (1500) a najniższe zimą (1220). Stwierdzono, że w badanym rejonie średnie roczne stężenie NO, wynosiło 39,3 μg m-3, w tym stężenie NO stanowiło 61% emisji.
